Young college Republicans take to the streets for Barletta

Equipped with Lou Barletta information, a dozen students from Catholic University of America (CUA) in D.C., hit the streets in Greater Pittston while sporting McCain - Palin buttons.
Greater Pittston residents Artie Bobbouinne and Lynette Villano were driving these eager young Republicans town to town as they canvassed the east and west sides for the Republican congressional candidate.
“Every year the CUA College Republicans targets a handful congressional races,” Alexandra Smith, Executive Director of the group, said.  Smith actually has some strong Pittston ties. Her mom is Sheryl Tommassetti and her grandfather was Louie Tommassetti.
“The Barletta - Kanjoski contest was one we saw as competitive,” Smith noted.
“Lou Barletta is a dynamic guy,” Smith noted. “He has the energy to get the job done and is a fresh face.”
Approximately 30 students came in from Washington D.C. and are hitting the streets in “Lou” zerne County.
“They got here late Friday night and will be here through the election,” Bobbouinne said. Bobbouinne is the Coordinator for Lou Barletta in the 3rd District.
He took the east side while Lynette Villano, Coordinator for Lou in Wyoming Area, took the west.
“We worked West Pittston in the morning,” Villano added, “and hit Exeter in the afternoon.”
Sunday they plan on heading south to Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Twp.
Barletta will be tallying the results at Genetti’s in Hazleton Tuesday night.

It is great to see young people get involved with our local goverment weather or not they are Dem or Rebublican. I had to chance to stop by O'Bama headquarters this week in Pittston and was great to see all the people that volunteer their time to what they believe in. This should be a great election on both the national side and the local side. Kanjoski and Barletta should be a barn burner.

Im am willing to give Lampman a HUGE PASS...if he drops out, admits that he has anger issues, and supports whomever runs in his place on that ticket!

Dr. Latona...I hope you are sure ! You have my vote...So does Kent...but my other two are for John John and Joe O.

Unbelievable - who are you to give anyone a pass. Why should Lampman drop out? He has anger issues - what are you some kind of doctor? I think with all the cheap shots you are taking at people on this site you are the one that has issues. Go back and look at all of Lampman's post on this site and you will find a guy that actually cares. Go vote for JOHN JOHN and Joe O, you deserve each other.

Isn't it interesting that Villano's own daughter and son-in-law have a political sign for Obama in their front yard. I guess she couldn't even convince her own family to vote for McCain and Palin.
